v1.4.0 August 2026 Latest

Turn-by-turn navigation with route-aware threat scanning, plus a redesigned alert display driven by beta field reports

New
  • Turn-by-turn navigation — route planning, live guidance with reroute, and turn instructions carried into the drive Live Activity on the Lock Screen
  • Route-aware threat scan — rDetect scans your planned route for known alert spots and enforcement cameras and drops them on the map ahead of you
  • Safest route — every alternate is scanned too, with the trade-off spelled out: "+4 min · 9 fewer threats"
  • Home and Work favorites plus avoid-tolls and avoid-highways route options
  • GPS breadcrumb trip routes — a map of the trail you actually drove, on every navigated trip
  • Glanceable threat direction — a large, strength-tinted arrow under the radar scope replaces the small grey Front/Rear/Side label, on the card dashboard, the map alert card, the iPad HUD and the Pro Dashboard
  • Band and frequency lead the alert — the measured frequency now sits beside the band badge at the same scale, and the compass steps back while a threat is on screen
  • Measured frequency on every band the detector reports one for — Ka, K, X and the European MRCD, MRCT and Gatso bands — on the alert card, in history, on map pins, on the Watch, in the widgets, in the spoken callout and on the Lock Screen
  • Daylight-legible alert colors — every band and signal-strength color now clears 4.5:1 contrast in light mode, so a windshield-mounted phone stays readable
  • Dynamic Type across the driving HUD — the speed readout, band badge, trend arrow, radar scope and speed-limit sign all follow your iOS text size
  • Frozen-feed detection — if the detector stops sending, every detector-fed readout dims, the heartbeat turns amber and VoiceOver says "No recent data" instead of leaving a stale number looking live
  • Speak-time verified voice — every callout is re-checked against live conditions at the moment it plays, so you never hear a turn cue you have already passed or a speed warning you have already obeyed
  • Self-correcting Lock Screen banner — the alert banner rewrites itself in place as a threat ramps and swings around you, silently and without a second buzz, and comes down when the source clears
  • Privacy Policy and Terms links in Settings, and Apple Weather attribution on every screen that shows weather
Improved
  • Navigation tab promoted alongside the dashboard with a redesigned planning surface
  • Route guidance announcements mix cleanly with alert voice and music
  • Detector discovery finds units the app previously could not see — the foreground scan no longer filters on an advertised service UUID, names like "Uniden R8", "R8-E6" and "R8 E6" all resolve, and a detector iOS has already reconnected is picked up instead of staying invisible
  • The connection handshake has a deadline — a link whose subscriptions never confirm is torn down and retried instead of parking on "Connecting" for the rest of the drive
  • Ka lockouts use Ka's 20 MHz frequency window instead of the 10 MHz one, including the Ka lockouts already on your device
  • Locking out from history, the history map or a live alert all pin the frequency you actually saw, so silencing one K-band false positive no longer silences every K source in the radius
  • The route corridor scan and the driving map now see community camera data, so a route lined with speed cameras no longer reports "No known threats on this route"
  • Turning off a Community Data type applies to cameras already downloaded, not just the next fetch
  • Applying a Settings Profile leaves your detector's own display preferences alone — speed units, time zone and daylight saving are no longer overwritten
  • The map opens where you are rather than over San Francisco
  • The idle "what did I just pass?" summary expires a minute after the alert ends instead of reading like a live threat
  • The alert visualization holds a fixed position — the band badge, scope, strength readout and frequency stay put whether one bogey is up or three
  • Every alert surface shares one identity and one direction vocabulary: a live-alert map pin now gives band, frequency, strength and direction instead of a bare "KA" and a Mute button, and the Watch no longer draws two arrows meaning two different things
  • The false-positive score breakdown shows a "Rules total" row and says when the score was clamped, so the numbers add up to the score above them
Fixed
  • Speed is read in the unit the detector actually reports — a metric detector was reading about 1.6x high on the HUD, and that inflated figure was also feeding Mute Below Speed, the speed warning, POI speed triggers, trip statistics and at-speed lockout learning
  • Auto-Mute Rules, GPS lockouts, Suppress Weak Signals and the detector's own mute now genuinely silence the spoken callout and the notification, not just the on-screen badge
  • Mute Below Speed no longer silences every alert while the detector has no GPS fix — after a connect, a mid-drive reconnect, in a tunnel or an urban canyon
  • A threat that starts weak still reaches a backgrounded driver; the one notification per encounter was previously spent on a frame that posted nothing
  • No screen shows a speed or altitude the detector's GPS never measured — the HUD, Pro speed hero, floating pill and the Watch blank the readout instead of reading zero
  • Widgets no longer promise protection that ended with the app — a force-quit mid-drive used to leave a green "Connected — All Clear" on the Home Screen for the rest of the day
  • The Watch no longer presents a retained snapshot as live, no longer buzzes for bands you switched off, and no longer confirms a mute that never left the wrist
  • A single source approached and passed is recorded as one encounter instead of three
  • Changing an unrelated dashboard preference, or tapping Reset to Defaults, no longer arms the 90-day retention purge
  • Reset All Data now clears auto-learn candidates, queued analytics and saved Home/Work places too
  • Route threat markers no longer announce a camera already in your mirror, and no longer run out before the end of a long route
  • Per-POI "Alert Above" speed thresholds work with no detector paired and through a mid-drive Bluetooth drop, reading the phone's own GPS
  • The "JSON (Full Backup)" lockout export is full fidelity again — pins, learning history and sync state survive the round trip
  • Imported lockouts and POIs are no longer created disabled when the file spells "true" as "Y", "on" or "Enabled"
v1.3.0 April 2026

Smarter false-positive scoring, diagnostic tools, and overhauled widgets

New
  • Diagnostic Tools — in-app health screen for connection, settings sync, GPS, and BLE alert parsing, with one-tap log export
  • Stats widget — Today and This Week alert counts, band distribution, and drive stats, always populated
  • Live Activity — Dynamic Island and Lock Screen banner with real-time band, strength, and direction
  • Grade-aware false-positive scoring — downhill stretches detected from GPS altitude score alerts as more likely real
  • Environment-aware scoring — OpenStreetMap context flags commercial-zone door openers, school zones, and busy intersections
  • Behavioral scoring — manual mutes and your own deceleration now factor into false-positive detection
  • Signal-profile classification — flat steady signals read as stationary emitters, sharp spikes as active enforcement
  • Score breakdown — tap any score dot in history to see which rules fired and by how much
  • Live context badges — road type, posted speed limit, and school-zone indicator on active alert cards
Improved
  • Settings Profiles — fully offline creation, full-config R8 presets covering every setting, and portable setting-ID export
  • Lockout learning — speed-aware thresholds, rear-only (BSM) rejection, and deceleration caution before locking out
  • Widgets — show last-session data when disconnected instead of an empty placeholder, with Smart Stack relevance
  • BLE reliability — mute and user-mark commands await ACK/NAK, settings validated before write, hardened reconnection
Fixed
  • Radar dot on the dashboard no longer slides into place when the scope first appears
  • Ka-band alerts sent in all-caps are no longer dropped
  • Pro Dashboard panels no longer shift between idle and alert states; numeric readouts use monospaced digits
