Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using rDetect ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

rDetect is a companion application for Uniden R-series radar detectors (R4, R8, R9). The App connects to compatible devices via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to display real-time alerts, device status, and settings management. The App includes an Apple Watch companion, home screen and Lock Screen widgets, a macOS companion (rDetect Manager), and optional iCloud sync for GPS lockouts, points of interest, and settings profiles.

rDetect is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Uniden America Corporation or any of its subsidiaries.

Uniden®, R4, R8, R9, and related product names are trademarks or registered trademarks of Uniden America Corporation. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.

rDetect is an independent, third-party application developed to work with Uniden radar detectors that support Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. The developer has no relationship with Uniden and makes no claims of official support or endorsement.

License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

•Use the App only with compatible, legally owned Uniden radar detectors
•Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding radar detector use in your jurisdiction
•Not use the App while operating a vehicle in a manner that creates unsafe conditions
•Not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
•Not use the App for any unlawful purpose

Data Collection & Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle data. Key points:

•All alert, lockout, and trip data is stored locally on your device by default
•The App includes an optional, opt-in anonymous data contribution program to improve false alert scoring. When enabled, anonymized alert feature data (band, signal strength, coarse location, and other statistical features) is transmitted to our servers. This data contains no personal identifiers. You can enable or disable this at any time in Settings.
•iCloud sync, if enabled, stores data in your private iCloud account — we do not have access to it

Important Disclaimers

Radar Detector Legality

Radar detector usage is regulated differently across jurisdictions. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with the laws in your area. rDetect does not encourage or endorse illegal use of radar detectors.

Driving Safety

Always prioritize safe driving. Do not interact with the App while driving. The App is designed to provide information; it does not guarantee detection of all speed monitoring devices or ensure avoidance of traffic citations.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

•The App will meet your specific requirements
•The App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
•The results from using the App will be accurate or reliable
•Any errors in the App will be corrected

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
